Christmas Eve is a very special day at Platte Woods UMC. All of our Christmas Eve services feature the carols you love to sing, a meaningful message and a special candlelight version of “Silent Night.” Children are always welcome at our worship services, but for those who prefer, childcare is available for those 3 & under at two of our services.
We hope you’ll join us as part of your Christmas celebration.
Services are planned for the following times:
Tuesday, December 24
10:00 a.m. Breakfast with the Angels: A Family Worship Experience
5:00 p.m. Candlelight Service (childcare available for 3 & under)
7:00 p.m. Candlelight Service (childcare available for 3 & under)
11:00 p.m. Candlelight & Communion Service
Serving the poor in developing countries in Central America has been a passion for Dr. Marty Kanne and Platte Woods UMC. Dr. Kanne has been going to Honduras and Guatemala since 1989. He and his team of Platte Woods UMC volunteers have built schools, churches, houses and other projects that establish sustaining resources. The project for this trip will be painting a newly constructed school kitchen that serves 1,000 students. Participants will also participate in various cultural experiences while on the trip.
This trip is open to students ages 15 and up. Applications will be accepted on a first-come first-served basis and deposit is due upon acceptance to reserve your spot on the team. Students interested in being a part of this mission team may be required to participate in an interview with trip leaders prior to acceptance. If you are interested in participating in this trip, please visit our online application page. Follow the prompts to complete your profile and login.
There will be an info meeting on October 13, 2019, from 5-6 p.m. in room 251. Additional information is available on our trip info sheet. If you have questions, contact Brandi Molina, director of Missions.
