UPDATE — General Conference has been moved to August 29-September 7, 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.


In August 2021, the United Methodist governing body, the General Conference, will meet for 10 days to discuss global church business. This is a quadrennial event with representatives from all over the world.


This year’s General Conference will include conversation and votes around the topic of human sexuality and ordination and marriage of individuals who are LGBTQIA+. On this page, we hope to provide information that can help you make sense of some of the upcoming discussions and proposals that are on the table.
