Who We Are
Platte Woods UMC Student Ministries exists to lead students to follow Jesus.
What We Do
Sunday Nights during the school year.
This is the place to be for students! We gather for games, worship (lead by our awesome student band) and our absolute favorite thing….small groups! In small groups, students have the chance to explore faith, bring questions/doubts, and make friendships with other students in their grade.
Middle School Youth Night (grades 6-8) is from 5:00-6:15
High School Youth Night (grades 9-12) is from 6:30-8:00
The first Sunday of every month every meets at the same time which will be from 6:00-8:00!
The Breakfast Club
Sundays at 9:15 a.m.
Gather your friends and head to the Student Center on Sunday mornings for The Breakfast Club. Grab a breakfast treat and then go to the 9:00 Worship Service with your friends. For more information, please contact Janessa.
Sundays at 10:45 a.m. for students in grades 8-12
This is a class designed to help students dive deeper into faith. At the end of this class students take their baptism vows for themselves and become full voting members of the UMC. This class is open to anyone in grades 8-12, and we ask parents talk to students if they are ready to make the two commitments mentioned. This is an annual class that starts in the fall.
POAC Lunch and Learn – Feb 20, 27, and March 6th from 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM. This group is open to all students in grades 9-12. During this group we will answer questions like What biases do we hold? How do those biases impact us? What does it mean to be an ally? This group will be led by People of All Color Succeed founder, Jamie Grayson. At the end of this group all participants get a People of All Color Succeed tshirt! The cost to attend is $25 per student but there are scholarships available. Click here to register a student.
