This 90-minute documentary chronicles how the misuse of a single word changed the course of modern history and Biblical translation and understanding for the last seven decades. This documentary chronicles the discovery of never-before-seen archives at Yale University, unveiling new revelations, and casting significant doubt on any biblical basis for LGBTQIA+ prejudice. Featuring commentary from prominent scholars as well as opposing pastors and theologians, including a very personal story from the film’s creator, 1946 is at once challenging, enlightening, and inspiring.
