Adopt a Family
Do you know a family that would be blessed by being a part of our “Christmas Adoption” program? If so, let them know that we are collecting applications now through November 16. Applications can be picked up at the front desk during regular office hours.
If you or your small group would like to adopt one of these families, please contact Brandi to be put on our list of adopters. Families will be paired up before Thanksgiving and gifts should be dropped off on December 8.
Toys for Tots Collection
We are collecting toys to donate to Toys for Tots during the month of November. Please drop off new, unused toys in the collection boxes near the missions space by November 30.
Adopt a Child - Matamoros, Mexico Orphanage
We are partnering with Iglesia de Camino to provide support to three orphanages in northern Mexico (Matamoros). It’s an area hit very hard by violence and problems with migration. Some of the Iglesia de Camino youth went on a mission trip there this year. With our support, Iglesia de Camino will be sending each child at the orphanage a complete new outfit: boxers or briefs, T-shirts, socks, shirt and pants. If you would like to adopt one or more of these children for Christmas, you can do so by making a $25 donation per child to PWUMC. Please include Iglesia Christmas in the memo. The deadline for this project is November 24.
December Angel Tree
Each year, PWUMC has an Angel Tree during the first weeks of December. The Angel Tree contains Christmas wishes for kids whose families are served by Tri-County Mental Health Services. If you’d like to help by purchasing a gift or two, please stop by the church to pick your ornament(s) off the tree. The Angel Tree is located in the Gathering Space near the Sanctuary entrance. Unwrapped gifts should be returned to the church with the ornament/tag attached by Wednesday, December 11. Wrapping paper, gift bags and scotch tape donations are also welcome.
Saturday Go Serve- A Day of Hope Partnership
Day of Hope Volunteer: This year we are partnering with The Days of Hope Foundation which focuses on providing winter assistance to Platte County Families in need. The mission of this organization is to provide for the physical needs of families, but more importantly to bring long lasting HOPE that they are not alone in their struggle. You can learn more about The Day of Hope by visiting their website. There you can also learn about various volunteer opportunities during the event.

Children's Village Volunteer @ Christmas on the River
PWUMC will again host the Children’s Village at Christmas on the River on Friday, December 6. One thousand children and parents are expected, so this is a great opportunity for us to show hospitality to our community. We will be in charge of crafts and games.
Community Christmas Meal Delivery
Worship through service on Christmas morning by serving a meal to those in our area who work on Christmas Day. If you are interested in helping by providing food, assembling the food plates and/or delivering the meals, contact Brandi Molina.
