Thanksgiving Feast for Families

This fall, carve out some time to provide a holiday meal, groceries and some holiday cheer to a local family. The goal is to provide food to 150 families this Thanksgiving!!  Pick up a box and the list of items to fill it with from the Gathering Space starting October 3.

Return your box to PWUMC on Saturday, November 13 between 10am-1pm. Volunteers will be available to remove the box from your car. If you are unable to drop off at this time, please leave your donation in our collection area in the Gathering Space. Donation deadline is Sunday, November 14.

Alternatively, you can support this project by making a financial contribution to the church. Simply mark your gift as “Missions-Holiday Food Box”. 1 box= $50

December Angel Tree

Each year, PWUMC has an Angel Tree during the first weeks of December. The Angel Tree contains Christmas wishes for kids whose families are served by Tri-County Mental Health Services and Hillcrest Transitional Housing. You will be able to fulfill Christmas wishes from our Angel Tree starting Sunday, November 28. Donations can be dropped off (with the Angel Tree ornament details attached) in the collection bins located in the Gathering Space anytime. There will also be drive-thru drop-off opportunities.  Dates and times TBA. The final day to drop off Angel Tree donations will be Sunday, December 12.

*Donations of wrapping paper, sweater boxes, gift bags and scotch tape are also needed and appreciated.

Adopt a Family

Do you know a family that would be blessed by being a part of our “Christmas Adoption” program? If so, let them know that we are accepting applications now through November 5. This year our applications can be filled out electronically and participants can contact Brandi Molina for more information about how to apply.

If you or your small group would like to adopt one of these families, please contact Brandi to be put on our list of adopters. Families will be paired up before Thanksgiving and we will ask that gifts be dropped off in the lower south parking lot on December 11 between 10-12. Once you sign up, you will receive additional information about next steps.

Christmas Day Shepherd's Run

PWUMC traditionally serves meals to those in our area who work on Christmas Day. Due to COVID-19, in 2020 we did not host a large serve event in the Dining Hall like we have in years past.  Instead, we delivered Anita’s Famous Cinnamon Rolls to our community members on Christmas Day as a safe and delicious alternative that also supports local business.  Details on this year’s Christmas Day Serve Opportunity are still being decided. Please check back here to stay up to date.
