PDO Overview
The Platte Woods United Methodist Church Parents’ Day Out (PDO) program is in its 54th year of providing quality childcare to children ages 6 weeks to pre-K.
The PDO program fits the needs of children of various ages. From our nursery care through pre-K, you can be assured that your child will receive care in a professional, clean environment. As your child grows, the educational opportunities at PDO increase.
During the mornings, teachers share in crafts, reading and other fun learning exercises with their students. Afternoons are spent in free play, allowing children to have fun and develop their social skills.
PDO offers professional childcare in a comfortable, age-appropriate environment, and is a state-inspected facility.
All children ages 3 and up must be potty-trained within one month of their third birthday.

PDO Waitlist
PDO is now full. To be added to our PDO Wait List, please fill out the form in its entirety. Please note, wait list entries will expire after one year.
Schedule & Fees
During the school year, PDO is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. each day. An extended care program before and after regular PDO hours is also available.
Late fees apply for children picked up after the close of PDO at 3 p.m. Prepayment options are also available.
2024 – 2025 School Year: PDO will meet Monday-Friday beginning Monday, August 19. PDO will be closed the following days during the school year: September 2, October 18, October 24 & 25, November 25-29, December 20-January 3, January 20, February 17, March 21-28, & April 18. The last day of the spring session will be Thursday, May 22.
Nursery
The nursery accepts infants age 6 weeks to 12 months old.
Nap Time
Children in the 2-year-old room and younger take naps at 1 p.m. All napping children will be provided with nap cots, but will need to bring a crib or twin sheet and blanket each day.
