PWYouth

Grades 6-12

Who are we?

PWYouth’s mission is inviting all students into full life together in Jesus Christ. Our ministry hopes and prays that student find full life through evening programs, retreats, church camp, serving together, and other events throughout the school year. There are so many different ways students can find places of belonging, spaces to be curious, and be encouraged to be courageous in PWYouth.

What do we do?

PWYouth Night

Sunday Nights during the school year from 6:00-7:30 pm

This is the place to be for students! We gather for games, large group teaching and our absolute favorite thing….small groups! In small groups, students have the chance to be curious about all parts of faith and a relationship with God. These groups are lead by amazing, caring adults who walk with your student on their spiritual journey!

6:00-6:30 Group Games/Activities
6:30-7:00 Large Group time
7:00-7:30 Small Groups by Grade!

Sunday Mornings

Sundays during the 9:30 am worship hour

Students are invited to sit with other students at the tables in the back left corner of our worship center. PWYouth believes being a part of worship as a teenager is a vital part of becoming a life long follower of Jesus. We have coloring sheets, fidget toys, and snacks waiting for students each Sunday morning.

Confirmation Class

Sundays at 11 am for students in grades 8-12

This is a class designed to help students dive deeper into faith. At the end of this class students take their baptism vows for themselves and become full voting members of the UMC. This class is open to anyone in grades 8-12. We ask parents talk to students if they are ready to make the two commitments mentioned. This is an annual class that starts in the fall.

Special Events

We have a variety of special events throughout the year. Whether high energy worship at church camp; or making s'mores at our Fall Retreat; or serving together on Saturday mornings before going to swim; or more local events like ice cream with your small group, we have something for everyone!

Safety Procedures

Because we care deeply about the welfare and safety of every child and youth who participate in the programs and ministries provided by PWC, we take seriously our responsibility to do everything in our power to see that no physical, emotional or sexual abuse occurs in any ministry setting sponsored by PWC.

We recognize every person as a child of God who is created in the image and likeness of God. Therefore, we have a strong commitment to make the church a safe place for children and youth. Supervision policies and procedures are in place.

The PWC “Because We Care” policy includes having all adult volunteers screened and registered.
