Kirk Bryson joined Platte Woods staff in October 2022 as the Technical Director. He has a bachelor’s degree in music technology from the University of Central Missouri.

Prior to working at PWUMC, Kirk worked for six years at Church of the Resurrection. He served as assistant technical producer at Resurrection Downtown, technical producer running and designing all lighting, graphics, and audio at Resurrection Blue Springs, and front-of-house audio engineer at Resurrection Leawood, their main campus. He has enjoyed his years of working with and training tech volunteers of all ages, including partnering with high school interns from the Park Hill school district. Kirk believes in enhancing the worship experience through the highest quality of production. He especially enjoys the creative aspects of his job.

Kirk has been best friends with and married to Deborah Bryson since 2010. Together they have two daughters, Lucy and Penny. He also enjoys being a cat dad to his three cats, Lil Brudder, Pam Beesly, and Toasty Marshamellow. He enjoys cooking for friends and family, having had seven years of professional cooking in restaurants on his resume. You can find Kirk at the movie theater, playing Breath of the Wild, and always searching for the best cup of coffee.
