Peter Babalian Memorial Scholarship
Peter Babalian was a member of Platte Woods United Methodist Church for over 41 years. He was born Pierre Babalian in Paris, France, and immigrated with his family to the United States at the age of 12. He became Peter at the time of his US citizenship. Peter served in the US Navy, and his service included a WWII Victory Medal. Peter was passionate about volunteering. In his younger family years, he could be found coaching, and in his later years he could be found volunteering at Platte Woods UMC and Hillcrest Thrift Shop. Peter’s wishes were that a scholarship be created from memorial contributions in his name.
