Commit is a two-session event (March 2 & 9) that invites you to become a committed member of Platte Woods United Methodist Church. During these sessions, you will have a chance to learn about the Methodist movement and why that matters today. You will discuss what it means to be part of a church, the church’s purpose in the world, and why Platte Woods UMC is the place that makes sense for you. All of this will culminate in a small worship gathering where you will have the opportunity to commit!

In the book of Matthew, Jesus is asked a question by one of the religious leaders. He asks, “Teacher, what is the greatest commandment in all the law? Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” (Matthew 22:36-39) Through these sessions, we hope to increase the love of God and neighbor both individually and communally. Are you ready to make the commitment necessary to follow Jesus?
