Journey: A Ministry for Couples
Aug 23 @ 6:05 pm – 9:00 pm

Journey offers monthly programs to strengthen your relationship at any stage and any age! On the fourth Friday of the month, join us for a time of community and learning, followed by the opportunity for a date night for you and your significant other.

Have elementary-age and younger kids in the house? We provide professional childcare for your evening so you can enjoy your time together without worry. Childcare is $10 per family when registered 10 days before the event. Childcare reservations made after that deadline will be charged a $20 late fee.

Our schedule each month looks something like this:

6:05-6:30
Community Time
Enjoy a light snack while getting to know other couples. Childcare dropoff is available during this time.
6:30-7:00
Program
Each month, we’ll have a different program of information designed to give you the knowledge and nudge to work on your relationship. There is no mandatory homework or reading and each month’s individual topic allows for flexibility in attendance.

Our 2019-20 study is based on the book “I Said This, You Heard That: How Your Wiring Colors Your Communication” by Kathleen Edelman. If you’ve ever wondered why sometimes your significant other doesn’t seem to hear you, or you feel like you are talking to a wall, then this is the Journey for you!
7:00-9:00
Date Night
Whether you decide to have a quiet dinner alone, catch up on some shopping or play mini golf, we hope you’ll take some of what you learned during the program and discuss it with your partner during your date. If your kids are in childcare, just be back by 9:00 for pickup!

Faith In Action
Sep 7 @ 9:00 am – Sep 8 @ 1:00 pm

Faith In Action is an annual serve event that began at PWUMC in 2005. Each year, hundreds of members, along with family and friends, spend the weekend putting their faith into action by volunteering at various partner locations. FIA projects are designed for all ages and abilities so everyone is able to participate.

The theme for 2019 is SHINE. In the Gospel of John, Jesus is called “the true light, which gives light to everyone.” (John 1:9) Throughout the New Testament, the followers of Jesus are called to be lights in the darkness. Join us as we share the light of Christ with those in our community, city and world!
