Becoming more involved

Wherever you are in your spiritual life you are welcome.  We believe it is important to take steps to grow spiritually, and so we invite you to engage in four areas of Christian Discipleship. (Discipleship is a lifelong journey of drawing closer to God and following Jesus Christ.)

A time to gather together to praise God.

Make an impact on our world through serving others as we serve God.

Learning in Groups

Grow in faith and experience God in new ways through learning in groups.

Discover joy through generosity of time, energy and money.

Baptism is a time when you are welcomed into God’s family.  If you are ready for this step for yourself or on behalf of your child, we would invite you into deeper conversation.  Please contact one of the pastors to schedule a time to meet.

Membership is a time when you take a step to make a commitment to Platte Woods United Methodist Church.  Members vow to support the church through prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness.  Depending on where you are in your faith journey, you may join through a profession of faith, through restoration, transferring from other denominations or transferring from another United Methodist church.

What’s Your Next Step?

When you have questions about getting engaged and taking your next steps, any of your pastors welcome the opportunity to talk with you.
