Join us for our annual Trunk ‘r Treat, this year at Plaza Middle School! All kids 6th grade and younger are invited to trick-or-treat around the parking lot, where festively decorated cars will hold delicious candy and treats. We’ll also have games, face painting and drawings. Invite your friends and neighbors for this fun family event!
Trick ‘r Treat So Others Can Eat
Canned goods will be accepted at the church on October 28-29 and at Trunk ‘r Treat for the Southern Platte Emergency Assistance Center. Bring your donations and help a family in need in Platte County.
There are two ways you can help with Trunk ‘r Treat!
- Host a trunk: Our Trunk ‘r Treat is a great event because of great people! If you’d like to decorate your trunk and hand out candy to the hundreds of children attending from our community, please contact Jen Bruce, Children’s Ministry associate.
- Donate candy: If you can’t host a trunk, consider donating bagged, individually wrapped candy … it takes a lot of candy to fill all those buckets!
During the school year, PWUMC offers Couples’ Nights Out once a month (usually on the first Friday) to give couples an opportunity for an evening to themselves.
Each CNO starts with a short program (usually 30 minutes or less) followed by a date night where they discuss what they’ve learned.
We are excited to announce our Couples Nights Out program for the 2017/2018 season. We will be using the book by Francis and Lisa Chan, “You and Me Forever: Marriage in Light of Eternity”. Francis and Lisa will address the question that many couples wonder at the altar: “How do I have a great marriage?” Learn more about resources available for this study.
Cost is $10 per couple each month when registered 10 days before the event. (Reservations after that will be charged a $20 late fee). This covers the adult program AND childcare. Childcare drop-off is available starting at 6:15 p.m., with pickup by 9 p.m.
Click below to register for the dates you will attend.
Registration Questions: Please contact Jenny Hundt.
Programming Questions: Please contact Vicki Krehbiel, director of Family Ministries.
The Ian’s Rainbow Foundation is hosting a flu shot clinic in the Studio, located just west of the traditional sanctuary. Shots are available with a freewill offering, and receipts can be given for insurance purposes. Shots are available for ages 6 months and up.
To learn more about Ian’s Rainbow, founded by PWUMC members Julie & Glenn Moise in memory of their son, Ian, please visit the Ian’s Rainbow site.
You are invited to have a “getting to know you” conversation with your pastors. Ask questions, learn more about programs, find out how to get more involved and more. No registration required.
Everyone is invited to a delicious meal of turkey, dressing, potatoes, cranberry salad, rolls and lots of desserts. All donations will go to the Student Ministry to help fund scholarships for students to go to mission and summer camps and special events. The students will be in the dining Hall on Sunday mornings so you can sign up to volunteer and to donate food or money. What an exciting opportunity to pull together as a community supporting our student ministries while enjoying a delicious meal. A free will offering will be received. Sign-up to bring food or work.
