The Bible inspired many people to do amazing things. Are you curious to understand what the Bible meant to them? And what does it mean to you now? Through the “How to read the Bible (Part 1: the Old Testament)” course, you can learn about the Bible’s larger story and gain a new perspective to read it well.
Many of us believe that we aren’t good enough to meet other people’s expectations. Maybe we can’t wrap words around why, but lurking beneath the surface of the carefully curated façade we present in public, it’s there. Being missed and marginalized by others moves us to assume we’re not quite good enough for God either. The great news woven throughout the Gospel according to Luke is that perfection is not a prerequisite for a deep and personal relationship with Jesus. In fact, this riveting account reveals that Jesus is especially fond of ragamuffins in need of a safe place to lean in and linger!

Sometimes the most painful and heartbreaking parts of our lives are hardest to let others hold with us. So we bury our grief deep within. This will be a service of prayer and quiet and an act of remembrance. It will be a time to come together and commemorate and hold tenderly the loss of children that so many have experienced through miscarriage, infertility or death. Our language is lament to God, and our work is care for one another. All genders and ages are invited.
PWUMC has traditionally set aside one Saturday of each month as a day to serve together. Serving together as a church is an amazing opportunity to bless others and be blessed by going out into our community to show the love of Christ in real and tangible ways.
Hygiene kits are crucial for promoting health and well-being, especially in communities with limited access to resources like the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. These kits provide essential items like soap, toothpaste, and other hygiene products that have been identified as a need by our partners at the Bear Program.bmolina@plattewoodschurch.org or visit our Saturday Go Serve sign-up.

- Learn more about the church’s mission, vision and congregation
- Ask questions
- Get to know the pastors
