Summer Intern Program
June 1–August 1, 2010
Platte Woods United Methodist Church, in the Northland area of Kansas City, is excited to announce a new summer internship opportunity. This internship will immerse you in ministry experiences that occur within the church.
The following is a brief description of the internship:
Overview of internship
- Immerse yourself in multiple ministries throughout the summer
- Weekly intensive sessions with youth, children, adult, evangelism, church leadership, worship and communication.
- Assist in planning worship experiences, church camp, Vacation Bible School, and youth Vacation Bible School.
- Attend Annual Conference.
- Visit several churches throughout the summer.
- Visit several mission sites and participate in a mission trip.
- Read current church leadership books.
- Have daily interaction with pastors and staff.
Compensation
Each internship includes:
- $2,000 stipend.
- Housing provided with an active church family if needed.
- Possible use of this internship for independent study or internship credit at your college (your responsibility to arrange).
Qualifications
- Current college student.
- Faithful individual who is considering ministry as a career.
- Must exhibit Christian leadership qualities.
- Must be willing to actively participate in the life of the church for the summer.
