Give a Prayer for Christmas
Each Advent season, we offer a prayer ministry for those interested in praying for a specific individual in our Platte Woods Church family. Participants in this ministry are given the name of another person participating in the ministry and a particular verse of scripture to pray for that person each day of the Advent season. During this time, participants only know whom they are praying for -- not who is praying for them. At the end of advent, all participants gather for a celebration in Memorial Hall and share the name of the person for whom they have been praying. This is also a time when participants are given an opportunity to share and celebrate the ways God has responded to their prayers. The celebration has always been a wonderful time of fellowship, new friends and fun. Singles, couples or entire families will find this a time of special discovery about the power and privilege of prayer.
