Music Ministry
The diverse Music Ministry of Platte Woods Church serves the congregation by leading us in worship and praise with instrumental and vocal music. For more information about how you can participate in any of the following groups, please contact Walter Bryant, worship director.
Wesleyan Choir
The Wesleyan Choir is a traditional full choir, and sings for the 11 a.m. worship service on Sundays as well as special seasonal services. Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m.
Jubilante Singers
This service choir meets on a short-term basis and provides music for our Sunday 8:15 a.m. service. This group rehearses once a week, on Monday or Tuesday evenings, at 7 p.m.
Celebration Singers
The Celebration Singers provide worship leadership at the Sunday 9:30 worship service. There are no auditions for this choir, which is open to youth and adults.
Praise Team
The Platte Woods Praise Team is a select group of adult singers who lead in worship at our 9:30 a.m. Sunday service. This is an audition choir.
Children's Choirs
We offer children's choirs for children age preschool through 5th grade. For more information, please see our W.O.W. page.
Handbell Choirs
The Miracle Ringers, our adult handbell choir, rehearse on Wednesdays from 6-7 p.m. We ring monthly at the 11 a.m. services throughout the year and for special services. We attend workshops, camps and festivals to advance our abilities and have fun with other ringers. We have available five octaves of handbells and over five octaves of choirchime, and are always looking for more ringers. In the future, we would like to expand to have more than one choir. If interested, please contact Sara Washington (816-468-6097).
PWUMC Orchestra
Our instrumental program is for high school through adult age instrumentalists. The PWC Orchestra provides worship leadership monthly for our Sunday 11 a.m. worship service. The orchestra rehearses at 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays.
