Worship Services

I will praise the Lord with my whole heart,
in the assembly of the upright and in the congregation ... (Psalm 111:1)

We celebrate our faith through a variety of Christ-centered worship experiences. These experiences include dynamic, praise-filled, traditional and contemporary services. While each service includes the same sermon, there are differences in musical style and presentation. Each service is planned to have a distinctive focus and style. Communion is served at each service on the weekend of the first Sunday of the month. The services are:

  • Saturdays, 5 p.m., Casual Worship
A come-as-you-are, casual atmosphere worship experience. A blend of traditional and praise music is part of this informal service.
  • Sundays, 8:15 a.m., Traditional Service
A warm and meditative service with traditional hymns and anthems. This liturgical worship is led by our Jubilante Singers and the service is accompanied by organ.
  • Sundays, 9:30 a.m., Contemporary Service
An upbeat worship experience led by our Celebration Singers, Praise Team and our 9:30 Jazz Combo. Contemporary Christian music, such as that you might hear on Christian radio, is the norm for this service.
  • Sundays, 11 a.m., Blended Service
A dynamic, energized service utilizing blended styles of hymns, praise choruses and anthems. Worship is led by the Wesleyan Choir. Additional instrumental music is provided regularly by our orchestra and handbell choirs.
  • Sundays, 5 p.m., NEXT Service -- NEXT is an entirely different type of worship, with a high-energy service, a light meal following and activities for children and youth. Learn more at whatsnextkc.org
