Platte Woods United Methodist Church

Children's Arts

PWUMC offers a variety of children's arts programs on Wednesday evenings during the school year. For more information about any of these activities, please contact Anne Bartholow, director of Children's Ministries.

Children's Choirs
Believing that music is vital to the overall religious education of children, the Platte Woods Children's Choir program is designed for children in preschool through fifth grade. All choirs meet for rehearsals on Wednesday evenings, and sing for our worship services and perform special seasonal musicals.

  • The Cherub Choir is for preschoolers age three and up who are potty-trained. They meet from 7:15-7:35 p.m. in room 51.
  • Kids of the Kingdom (grades K-2) meets in room 257 for rehearsal from 6:30 p.m.-7:10 p.m.
  • Power of Praise choir (grades 3-5) meets in room 255 from 6:30 p.m.-7:10 p.m.

Footprints Dance Team
Children learn to worship God through movement by dancing to Christian music. Praising God through dance is mentioned throughout the Bible and visually enhances the worship experience of the entire congregation. The children dance during the church services several times a year. This group is best suited for children in kindergarten through sixth grade. The children practice and have fun on Wednesday evenings from 6:00-6:30 p.m. in room 257 throughout the school year. "Let them praise His name with dancing; let them sing praises to Him with the timbrel and lyre." Psalm 149:3
